Ulab (in-house aligners)

Dr. Larkin also offers in-house clear aligners through a system called ULab. Similar to Invisalign, ULab utilizes advanced digital technology that allows Dr. Larkin to make real-time adjustments to your treatment plan using a 3D computer application. This system is typically offered for minor orthodontic corrections. Once the treatment plan is finalized, the aligners are fabricated in-house, resulting in faster turnaround time for patients.

Q: Do aligners effectively straighten the teeth like braces?

The short answer is yes. Clinical research has proven Invisalign to be an effective treatment option, however, there is some room for error. For clear aligners to be most effective, patients must wear them 22 hours a day. These aligners, just like traditional braces, apply controlled force to the teeth to straighten then, and that force is needed 22 hours a day to achieve your desired results.

Q: How much does Invisalign cost?

Just like any other type of orthodontic treatment, cost depends on the complexity of a patient’s case. Generally, aligner treatments are slightly more expensive than traditional braces. You can schedule your complimentary consultation to find out what your treatment plan would entail!

Q: How many aligners will I have?

The number of aligners is again dependent on the complexity of treatment. We offer 3 different case options: express, moderate and comprehensive and Dr. Larkin will pick which one best suits you. Express cases are usually for people who need minor adjustment and can expect 5-10 aligners. Moderate cases usually consist of 14-20 aligners and comprehensive would be anything greater than that.
